AmeriCorps at Marshfield Clinic Health System

Since 2000, Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) has hosted 47 AmeriCorps programs and placed 1,230 AmeriCorps members in communities across Wisconsin. Past programs have focused on substance use prevention, afterschool programming, tribal member development and volunteer capacity building.

The first MCHS AmeriCorps Program, Project Forward, in 2000. The current MCHS Public Health AmeriCorps programs, Community Corps and Recovery Corps, in 2023.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, AmeriCorps partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2022 to launch a brand new program, Public Health AmeriCorps. This program is addressing our most pressing community health needs while developing the next generation of public health leaders. MCHS operates two Public Health AmeriCorps programs, Community Corps and Recovery Corps. Each program enrolls individuals committed to expanding the capacity of substance use treatment and recovery organizations, health departments and centers, and other health-focused agencies across Wisconsin communities.

Are you thinking AmeriCorps could be a pathway to strengthen your community-based organization? Or are you seeking an unforgettable, one-year experience to help advance health outcomes in Wisconsin?
